We have to pay tip in a restaurant!!

One day my cousin-in-law treated my husband and me to dinner in a Chinese buffet restaurant. After eating dinner, he put some money on the table for the server. It was interesting even though I had heard about American tipping culture. we also have to pay tip when we use a hotel, a taxi, a hair salon, a tour guider and so on. In Korea, usually we don't pay tip. so it is difficult for me to know how much tip we should pay....

American people use a lot of disposables!!!

After I came here in the US, one of the most surprising things is that American people use a lot of disposable products such as paper or plastic cups, paper plates, and so on. After eating meals they just throw away them. I came to konw they don't like washing the dishes. And whenever I go to a mart or supermarket, they give me a lot of plastic bags for free. Sometimes I need just one or two bags but the clerk puts my products in too many bags. Actually in Korea we have to buy the plastic bag paying 50Won in a big mart. So I always used to buy one plastic bag.
In a way, using disposables is so convenient, but I think it is not good for environment.
